In the national final, contestants were required to draw digital slices and anatomical specimens at random for structural analysis, professional interpretation and critical response, which comprehensively assessed their capabilities in morphological identification, clinical thinking and on-site adaptability. Under the guidance of teachers Wang Tiantian, Ding Dan and Zhu Mei from Qingdao Binhai University, Shao Zheng stood out from numerous competitors and claimed the Bronze Award under the Special Prize category in the Histology discipline track.

Officially included in the National University Discipline Competition Research List for General Higher Education Institutions on March 21, 2026, the competition is the first national discipline competition in the field of medical morphology to be shortlisted in the official national competition list. It covers five competition tracks, including human anatomy, histology, pathology, medical parasitology and medical microbiology. Adopting a three-level selection mechanism consisting of school-level preliminary competition, national online semi-final and national on-site final, this year’s competition attracted participation from 227 medical universities across the country.
