Recently, the national finals of the 19th iCAN College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded successfully at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. Two teams from Qingdao Binhai University achieved outstanding results, winning one National First Prize and one National Third Prize, with the “3Dprint-CENBM” project also receiving the Best Popularity Award.

Held under the theme “Original Innovation Power from China,” the competition focused on ten cutting-edge fields including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and smart healthcare. The evaluation process combined project pitching and defense with physical prototype demonstrations. Guided by faculty member Zhang Jingjing, the “3Dprint-CENBM” project won the National First Prize and was additionally honored with the Best Popularity Award. Another project, “Workshop Care Assistant,” supervised by faculty member Chen Zhenjun, received the National Third Prize.

This year’s competition attracted nearly 140,000 students from more than 1,500 universities nationwide, with a total of 36,000 project proposals submitted. Following multiple rounds of selection at the campus and regional levels, only 900 teams advanced to the national finals, representing an acceptance rate of approximately 2.5%.
