On the morning of November 27, the 7th Provincial Commendation Conference for Self-Reliant Models and Advanced Disability Assistance Collectives was held in Jinan. The School of Continuing Education of Qingdao Binhai University was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective for Disability Assistance in Shandong Province" by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, making Qingdao Binhai University the only university in the province to receive this honor. Its innovative approach to engaging in disability assistance by leveraging its strengths in special education, its experience in advancing public welfare in running the school, and the achievements it has made have been recognized by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. Lin Wu, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, extended congratulations to the awarded advanced collectives and individuals for disability assistance, and his sympathies to the majority of persons with disabilities, their families, and disability workers. Zhou Liwei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

Cui Xiaomin, Dean of the School of Continuing Education of the university, received the medal.
For many years, the School of Continuing Education of Qingdao Binhai University has relied on the university’s special education center—a provincial-level demonstration internship and training base—to establish a seamless service network covering "young children, school-age children, and adolescents/adults", and constructed a disability assistance service model of "full-chain coverage and full-cycle support". It has co-built the "Tongxinyuan (a homophone for 'childlike innocence circle') Preschool Integration Innovation Base" with the District Bureau of Education and Sports and the District Disabled Persons’ Federation, and established the West Coast Resource Center for Children with Special Needs. It took part in formulating the group standard Rehabilitation Norms for Autism Spectrum Disorder in Children Aged 7-17, which is released by the China Association of Rehabilitation of the Disabled, and developed and released the "Learning Adaptation Assessment System for School-Age Students with Intellectual Disabilities". It has built a "theory-based and training-enhanced" dual-drive training system and a composite curriculum system, providing the industry with high-level special education teachers. Through donations, fee reductions and exemptions, material support, the loan of rehabilitation equipment, training salons and other forms, it has actively assisted people with disabilities and provided holistic support for families of autistic children.
According to incomplete statistics, as of now, the school has provided professional assessment and intervention services for more than 1,000 children with special needs, and has successfully helped hundreds of children with disabilities integrate into regular kindergartens and schools, achieving full-process support from rehabilitation to integration. It has made multiple breakthroughs in the rehabilitation education of children with disabilities, the training of special education teachers, the health and nursing care of persons with disabilities, technology-enabled disability assistance, and the development of industry standards.
