To effectively enhance students’ awareness of overseas safety prevention and cross-cultural communication skills, and to ensure the safe and civil study of students participating in overseas exchange programs, on November 19, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of Qingdao Binhai University, in conjunction with the Foreign Affairs Management Section of the Work Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, jointly organized a specialized training session on consular protection and international etiquette at the 5th-floor lecture hall of the Tongde Building. More than 100 students from across the university who are planning to study abroad participated in the training.

Zhou Lihua, section chief of the Foreign Affairs Management Section of the Work Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, delivered a systematic and practical presentation on core topics such as etiquette norms in international exchanges and cross-cultural communication skills. Section member Liang Qingyu focused on overseas safety, providing a detailed explanation of the types of common overseas safety risks, key prevention points, and response methods, clarifying the scope of application and application process of consular protection policies, and conducting interactive exchanges on practical issues of concern to students, answering questions on-site.

Students who participated in the training said the content was detailed and tailored to their needs. It not only helped them establish a “safety first” mindset for overseas travel, but also effectively enhanced their safety awareness and international etiquette. They all stated that during their future overseas exchanges, they will strictly abide by foreign affairs discipline and local laws and regulations, respect the customs and traditions of the countries and regions where they study, and demonstrate the good spirit of Chinese youth through practical actions, acting as messengers for cultural exchange between China and the world.
