To deepen practical training in language programs and promote cross-cultural exchange, the School of Foreign Studies and International Cooperation at Qingdao Binhai University organized a multicultural carnival titled “Where Binhai Meets AEON: A Future Built on Dreams” from November 1 to 2 at the Huangdao AEON MALL.

Centered on “cultural displays + hands-on experiences”, the event featured two key segments: a “Language & Culture Passport Stamp Rally” and a “Chinese Plus Cross-Cultural Stage”, creating an immersive environment for cultural engagement. In preparation, faculty and students set up a performance stage and six themed “culture booths”, each dedicated to Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and other international cultures. The carnival officially commenced on November 2 with a vibrant lion dance. Participants collected passports and embarked on a cultural exploration—trying calligraphy and solving lantern riddles at the Chinese booth, learning Russian greetings and painting matryoshka dolls at the Russian booth, trying on hanbok and tackling dalgona candy challenges at the Korean booth, and more.

The stage segment showcased a wide range of multilingual song performances and martial arts demonstrations by students from various majors. These were interspersed with quizzes on language and cultural knowledge, highlighting the students’ professional competence. Game sessions further energized the crowd, with activities such as musical chairs, kendama, touhu (ancient Chinese arrow tossing), and Twister introducing participants to games from different cultures. Interactive language crash courses also drew enthusiastic participation. Instructors and students taught basic phrases like "Hello," "Thank you," and "I love you, China" in multiple languages, inviting the audience to practice their new skills in a lively, celebratory atmosphere.

The multicultural carnival served as a valuable platform for students from the School of Foreign Studies and International Cooperation to engage in professional practice and intercultural communication. By translating classroom knowledge into practical application, the event highlighted the educational achievements of programs such as Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Language and Literature, and various foreign language majors, ultimately contributing to regional socio-economic development.
